Renovations › OLYMPIC TOWER ENTRANCE LOBBY, N.YORK

The Olympic Tower is a 52-storey skyscraper located on 5th Avenue, and 51st street in New York. In 1998 a multi-million USD renovation program started to improve the building’s main lobby and major mechanical and electrical systems. The project was a complete refurbishment of the entrance lobby, which has an area of 1000 m2, a height of 10m and includes a waterfall and a skylight. This “atrium” is decorated with 19th century plaster casts of the Parthenon freeze, of remarkable quality and historical value, the originals of which are in the British Museum.

The establishment of the Onassis Cultural Center, with the purpose to promote the Greek cultural heritage has been supported by an auditorium, which can be used for exhibitions, by a shop which sells objects from Greek museums and also by a café, contributing to the lively atmosphere of the space..
